Academic Scholarships
Educational funding opportunities for eligible learners pursuing academic qualifications.
Learn MorePoverty should never decide who gets an education. EduBridge Future Leaders Fund exists to remove the financial barriers that keep children and students out of school — connecting eligible learners and families with scholarship funding of up to US$50,000 per student.
For millions of children across Africa, the barrier to education is not ability. It is a school fee, a uniform, a pair of shoes, a bus fare, or a family income that simply cannot stretch far enough.
When a household must choose between food and tuition, a child leaves school — often permanently. The loss is not only personal. It is a loss to the family, the community, and the country that will never benefit from the leader, teacher, engineer, or nurse that child might have become.
EduBridge exists to interrupt that choice. We believe education is the most reliable route out of poverty, and that every child — regardless of the family they were born into, the country they live in, or the school their parents could afford — deserves the chance to learn, to grow, and to lead.
EduBridge Future Leaders Fund is an international philanthropic education organization established in 1985, working to make learning opportunities more accessible for children, young people, and adult learners.
Since our founding, our guiding belief has been simple: financial circumstances should not prevent talented and deserving learners from pursuing their educational ambitions. We gather scholarship information into one place, describe requirements in plain language, and set out exactly what each programme offers so that applicants can decide with confidence.
Our work spans primary and secondary education, technical and vocational training, undergraduate studies, postgraduate education, and other recognised educational programmes — because the moment a learner needs support is rarely the same for any two families.
Our work is organised into four categories of support. Individual opportunities are published as separate listings once their details have been confirmed.

Learn MoreSupport initiatives intended to help eligible learners manage educational costs.
Learn MoreEducational assistance opportunities designed to address financial barriers to learning.
Learn MoreInitiatives that connect learners with information, resources, and pathways to further education.
Learn MorePlease note: the four categories above describe the types of support we work with. Confirmed opportunities are published as individual listings on the Scholarships page.
Everything we publish is designed to make educational support easier to find, easier to understand, and easier to apply for — for students and for the parents and guardians standing behind them.
Helping learners and families discover educational support they may not otherwise find.
Writing programme information so it can be understood without specialist knowledge.
Publishing eligibility requirements and application procedures clearly, before you apply.
Supporting learners as they work toward their educational goals, at every stage of study.
Bridging Dreams. Empowering Futures.
An African philanthropic scholarship initiative supporting children and students with educational funding of up to US$50,000 per student. Applications may be submitted by the student themselves or by a parent or legal guardian on their behalf, and parents may apply for multiple children.
A child in a rural village and a child in a capital city are born with the same capacity to learn. What separates them is not intelligence — it is access. Our work exists to close that distance, one learner and one family at a time.
Since 1985 we have held one standard: what we publish must be true. Every listing, requirement, and procedure on this website is written with applicants in mind. We would rather say less than mislead.
Every opportunity appears here only after its details have been reviewed.
Eligibility and assessment criteria are stated before you start an application.
Applications and documents are submitted only through official channels.

Applying for educational support does not have to be complicated. Here is the four-step process behind every EduBridge programme.
Review the scholarship and educational support programmes listed on this website.
Read the requirements, required documents, and any programme-specific conditions.
Complete the relevant application form and provide the requested information.
Applications are assessed against the published criteria and applicable procedures.

Educational support is only meaningful when it reaches real people. These are some of the learners, families, and communities whose journeys we have been privileged to support. Stories are shared with permission.
I was one semester away from withdrawing. The fund covered my fees and my living costs, and I finished my degree. Now I'm training as a teacher in my home town.
As a mother of three, I could only afford to keep one child in school. I applied for all three through the same form. All three are still in school today.
The bursary paid for my technical training and my tools. Six months after graduating I opened my own workshop and now employ two apprentices from my village.
We host free sessions for applicants, parents, and educators. Attendance is optional and does not affect your application. All times are local to the venue.
A walkthrough of the application form, documentation requirements, and what parents need to prepare when applying for more than one child.
An online session for parents and legal guardians covering how to submit a single application covering several children, and how funds are disbursed to a nominated bank account.
A briefing for schools, community organizations, and educators who want to share the Future Leaders Fund with the learners and families they serve.
Attendance is free. Events are informational only. Attending a session does not create an application. To register your interest, contact our team.

See the application processEducation is one of the most reliable routes out of poverty — yet for many learners, the distance between ability and achievement is measured in costs, paperwork, and missing information.
Educational assistance changes that equation. It allows a student to stay enrolled rather than withdraw, to sit an examination rather than postpone it, and to plan for a future rather than react to the next bill. EduBridge exists to make those pathways visible and to describe them honestly, so that learners and families can make informed decisions about education.
A note on impact figures. We do not publish beneficiary counts, award totals, or success rates unless they can be independently verified. When verified data becomes available, it will be published here.

EduBridge Future Leaders Fund is an international philanthropic education organization established in 1985. We work to expand access to education for children, young people, and adult learners by connecting eligible applicants and families with scholarship opportunities and educational support. Our flagship programme is the Future Leaders Fund for Africa.
The Future Leaders Fund provides educational funding of up to US$50,000 per student. The amount awarded to an individual student is determined by the assessed cost of their programme of study, subject to eligibility requirements, verified educational expenses, individual circumstances, and available funding. The maximum is a ceiling, not a default award.
Yes. Parents and legal guardians may apply for multiple children. Each child's details should be listed clearly within the application so that each one can be assessed individually against the published criteria.
Award funds are sent directly to the awardee's nominated bank account. Banking details are collected only through official channels, and only after an award has been confirmed in writing. We will never ask for bank details before an award decision has been communicated to you.
Eligibility is set by each individual programme. For the Future Leaders Fund, applicants must be children or students based in Africa. Depending on the programme, additional criteria may relate to education level, academic background, and financial circumstances. Always read the eligibility section of the specific listing before you begin.
Requirements differ by programme. Commonly requested documents include proof of identity, academic transcripts or certificates, proof of enrolment or an admission letter, and evidence of financial circumstances. For parent or guardian applications, proof of relationship to the child may also be requested.
Applications are assessed against the published criteria for the specific programme, by the team responsible for it. Submitting an application does not guarantee an award, and meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee selection.
No. We do not charge an application fee for the Future Leaders Fund. Any fee that applies to any other programme will be stated clearly in that programme's published information.
Use the form on our Contact page, email info@edubridgescholarship.org, or call our toll-free line on +800 1111 6666. Please include the name of the programme you are asking about.

The EduBridge Future Leaders Fund for Africa is an African philanthropic scholarship initiative created to remove financial barriers that keep capable children and students out of education.
The Fund provides educational funding of up to US$50,000 per student, supporting learners at the stage of education where the money will make the greatest difference — whether that is keeping a child in secondary school, completing an undergraduate degree, or finishing a vocational qualification.
Applications may be submitted directly by the student, or by a parent or legal guardian on the student's behalf. Parents and guardians may apply for multiple children within the same application, and each child is assessed individually against the published criteria.
On the amount. The Fund provides educational funding of up to US$50,000 per student, subject to eligibility requirements, verified educational expenses, individual circumstances, and available funding. The amount awarded to an individual student is determined by the assessed cost of their programme of study, not automatically at the maximum. No applicant is charged an application fee.
Complete the online application form with your name, applicant type, number of children (if parent), and the amount you are requesting.
Gather proof of identity, academic records, proof of enrolment or admission, and evidence of financial circumstances.
We will contact you with details after submitting — including the documentation list and next steps.
Each child or student is assessed individually against the published criteria.
Award funds are paid directly to the awardee's nominated bank account. We do not route awards through intermediaries, agents, or third-party representatives.
Banking details are collected only after an award has been confirmed in writing, and only through official channels. We will never ask for bank details, PINs, passwords, or mobile-money codes before an award decision has been communicated to you.
Protect yourself. If you receive a message requesting payment or banking information and you are unsure whether it is genuine, contact us on +800 1111 6666 before responding.
We will email you the complete and current list after we receive your application.

Yes. Parents and legal guardians may apply for multiple children. Each child's details should be clearly listed within the application, and each child is assessed individually against the published criteria.

A single, verified listing of the educational support programmes we have published.
Our work spans four categories of educational support. Listings are published under one of these categories once the details of an opportunity have been confirmed.
Educational funding opportunities for eligible learners pursuing academic qualifications.
Support initiatives intended to help eligible learners manage educational costs.
Educational assistance opportunities designed to address financial barriers to learning.
Initiatives that connect learners with information, resources, and pathways to further education.
Use the filters to narrow the list. Every listing shows its current application status and contact email.
How listings are published. An opportunity appears here only after its details have been reviewed. Each listing states the education level, geographic eligibility, funding coverage where confirmed, application status, and contact email.
Every programme sets its own conditions. Two programmes in the same category may have different education level requirements, different documentation lists, and different application windows.
Before starting an application, confirm three things: that you meet the eligibility criteria for that specific programme, that you can provide every required document, and that the application status is marked Open.
Explore educational opportunities and discover the pathways available to support your learning journey.
How eligibility is determined, and what to check before you begin an application.
We do not apply one universal eligibility policy across all programmes. Each programme is designed for a particular group of learners, and each one publishes its own criteria.
The authoritative source is always the individual listing. If you are unsure whether you qualify, contact us before submitting an application.
Important: meeting a programme's eligibility criteria does not guarantee an award. Eligibility determines whether an application can be considered; selection depends on the assessment criteria published for that programme.
Full details are on the Future Leaders Fund page.
Programmes are usually designed for a specific stage of education — primary or secondary school, undergraduate study, postgraduate study, or vocational and technical training.
Some programmes are open to applicants from a specific country or region. Others are open globally. Where a geographic restriction applies, it will be stated in the listing.
Where a programme applies academic criteria, the listing will state what is required — for example, a completed qualification, a minimum grade average, or confirmation of admission to an institution.
Bursaries and tuition assistance programmes are often intended for learners facing financial barriers. Where this applies, the listing will describe the evidence required and how it will be assessed.
Most programmes require documents to be submitted with an application. Requirements vary, but commonly requested items include proof of identity, academic records, proof of enrolment, and evidence of financial circumstances.
Some programmes carry additional conditions — for example, a requirement to be enrolled at the time of application. Any such condition will be stated in the listing.
The list below describes the categories of documentation commonly requested across our programmes. Your specific listing will confirm exactly what is required.
A government-issued identity document or passport, used to confirm the applicant's name and nationality where relevant.
Transcripts, certificates, or examination results that demonstrate the academic background relevant to the programme.
An admission letter, enrolment confirmation, or institutional reference confirming your current or intended course of study.
Documentation of household income or financial circumstances, where the programme is intended for learners facing financial barriers.
Some programmes request a short written statement describing your educational goals and how the support would be used.
Where a parent or legal guardian applies on behalf of a child, a document confirming the relationship may be requested.
Submitting documents safely. Only send documents through the official channels described in the relevant listing. We will never ask you to send personal documents to an unofficial address or to a third party claiming to represent us.

Practical guidance on preparing, completing, and submitting an application.
Before starting any application, confirm the following:
Prepare your documents before you open the application form. Most applicants find it helpful to gather everything in one folder first. Where documents are scanned, make sure the text is legible and that all pages are included.
Check that names appear consistently across documents. Where a parent or guardian is applying on behalf of a child, ensure the relationship is documented.

Submit through the online application form. Keep a copy of everything you submit, and note the date you submitted it.
